Keloid acne scar is treatable!

Keloid acne scars are treatable, but it's important to have realistic expectations, as complete and permanent removal isn't always guaranteed, and recurrence is a common challenge.

What works well for one person's keloid may not be as effective for another's. The size, location, age of the scar, and individual skin type can all influence treatment outcomes.

For individuals prone to keloids (often those with darker skin tones, a family history, or certain genetic predispositions), prevention of new scars (e.g., avoiding unnecessary piercings, getting early treatment for acne, careful wound care) is often emphasized because established keloids are so challenging.

Therefore, while keloid acne scars are indeed treatable, it often involves a multi-modal approach, consistent follow-up, and realistic expectations about the degree of improvement that can be achieved
